Here is a dramatic Hematite included Quartz cluster featuring a big doubly terminated crystal perched on top, from Moroccan finds of a few years ago. The cluster has a rich, brick-red color that is uniform and intense throughout all of the crystals. The large, four and a half inch doubly terminated crystal is well terminated and has a druse of small, 2 to 3 mm Quartz crystals that completely cover the prism faces on the display face, but the terminations are essentially free of this druse. Several smaller, brick-red crystals are grouped at the base serving as a pedestal for the large crystals, and these range in size from 1 to three inches in size. Contacting on the back reveals that the Quartz crystals have a core of colorless Quartz, while the subsequent generation of Hematite included Quartz was deposited later on the exterior resulting in a dramatic and shimmering Quartz specimen. Although this came out in quantity, most specimens were too large and did not have such isolated and developed crystals. This is a superb example in a collectible size.
