The fluorites demonstrate some of the best color from the locality and are very gemmy, making for a plate with unusual sparkle compared to others here. While many specimens from the 2017 Queen of Green pocket at the Diana Maria mine are recognized by their association with bright white aragonite, this specimen stands out from the crowd with the classic combination of galena. While some specimens will have some galena present, the relative isolation of the fluorite on the silvery-grey galena provides wonderful contrast and balance. Due to careful mining and trimming processes, damage to the specimen is mostly focused only around the perimeter of the specimen, with only very minor imperfections on the interior crystals that do not detract from the overall aesthetics. Daylight fluorescence is present in the fluorite, turning a wonderful purple color when exposed to sunlight. Under UV lighting, the fluorite glows intensely. Combined, this makes for an exciting and eye-catching example of the modern classics from the locality, sure to stand the test of time as an exceptional find! It was originally priced at $3500 by the dealer bringing the pocket to market. We are pleased to announce that we made a sizable purchase of the stashed material from this find, which had been put away before COVID, and so we are now able to offer them years later and at half the original asking prices.
