Sporting a very distinct "mushroom" shape, this is a thumbnail version of the quintessential "mushroom cap" Tourmaline from Burma, from classic finds of the 1990s. It also has a very recognizable black Schorl core with a marked contact with the raspberry-pink, mushroom exterior. The shape is very aesthetic going from a "skirt" at the base tapering in to a "waist" then blossoming out to the unmistakable mushroom cap. The crystal has a satin luster with minor whitish clay at the interstices between the bunched, individual component crystals (it looks like a red broccoli cluster!).
