This is a strange heliodor "nodule" from some old location in Minas Gerais has been in the Larson beryl collection for decades since it turned up. It is hard to say how this formed, as one end seems terminated in a normal flat end (although a little rough in surface texture) and the other grades into an infinite progression of tiny points, like a forest of small terminations. It is about 70 grams, so it is a hefty miniature. It can also display either horizontally, showing both ends, or sitting on the flat termination, or with the pointy end(s) sticking down into the base - there is no right answer here, as it is complete (and weird) all around! Also, we cannot recall another specimen of heliodor grading to a true goshenite, as you see here - the "fibrous" looking termination lost its color, somehow. Just another one of the amazing variety of miniatures in the long held beryl collection of Bill Larson, Pala Intl, on display in their shop in San Diego for decades!
