Quartz with phantoms (polished)$4,800.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Although it looks like a Quartz crystal it is actually a "quartz wand" polished to look somewhat like the original crystal "faces". Quartz from this locality was known to have a frosted surface and needed to be worked to allow the phantoms to really pop out and show off dramatically; so this is a lapidary specimen but also a display worthy quartz at the same time. It is very interesting, however, in that it exhibits several parallel phantoms in the Quartz highlighted by lines, or planes, of powdery possibly Lepidocrocite? The prominent planes are perfectly parallel and spaced randomly within the Quartz from 5 mm to nearly 3 cm apart. They look machined, not nature-made. A very interesting piece that has a very professional polish of the highest level, all around and everywhere on all sides! Rock had a huge collection of lapidary and polished material assembled during his extensive travels in Brazil. #4737 in the collection.
