A large and dramatic crystal , 6.5 cm across, highlights this display sized specimen from a famous find of nearly 20 years ago now. The intense pink color of these crystals made the pocket stand out, and examples of the cabinet sized pieces recovered are now in major private collections. This is one of the few small cabinet pieces in good condition, and one of only a few that might recycle to market in our lifetimes as well. It is pristine, with no damage...utterly remarkable for a find from the French Alps and a piece of this size. Interestingly, it even has the look of a set of alpine mountains. The color, luster, and transparency of these crystals is above average for Chamonix with more of a vibrant pink-red than the usual muted pink hues we often see in these rare Alpine Fluorites. It is a great association with stunning contrast of geometry, a stack of sharp fluorites perched upon a pedestal of adularia, and a composition combining to make a competitive small cabinet specimen.
