We rarely see Fluorapatite crystals available from the pegmatite in Myanmar (Burma), however, they have produced some stunning crystals like this gemmy, lavender colored thumbnail. The crystal has an unusual habit for Fluorapatite that looks almost triclinic! The color is a sublime pale lavender and the crystal is totally gem and pristine save a couple of small, white, hardened clay (Kaolinite?) spots on the backside and only a tiny contact on the bottom where it was attached to another mineral, otherwise it's a complete floater. The prism faces are glassy with barely perceptible striations parallel to the length of the crystal. A fabulous little thumbnail from the Burmese pegmatites! 2.09 grams.
