Rutile inclusions in Quartz
Dramatic red inclusions of shockingly sharp, clean, linear rutile crystals fan out through this sphere of clear quartz. The clarity of the quartz is amazing, crisp, clean: letting the rutile show through without interruption from the usual fog or haze within most quartz carving rough. The sphere is from a very high level private collection in China assembled over 3 decades, and from choice rough material mined in the time around 2012. It is one of the finest examples of red rutile inclusions, which are unique in this size to Madagascar. Most previous rutile inclusions, golden or silver in color, came from Brazil. 919 grams.
