Here is yet another unusual find from Myanmar (Burma), a bright blue Sapphire crystal on matrix! The salt and peppered schist matrix is composed of granular, off-white Quartz and Feldspar shot through with flakes of bronze-brown Biotite with a beautiful blue Sapphire perched on the display front. The stunning, Sapphire is 1 cm in length and is mostly gem to slightly translucent with great luster! The crystal is hexagonal prismatic with pyramid and pinacoid faces at the exposed termination. The blue color is rich and reminiscent of a good Mexican Scorodite. This rare matrix Burmese Sapphire has great presentation and aesthetics!
