Peru is renowned for its superb Pyrites and this is a classic cluster that simply stuns the viewer with crystalline geometry: These are perfect cubes with super sharp edges and striated faces with little or no modifications of any kind. These remarkably beautiful, brass-yellow Pyrites are highly lustrous with cubes to 3.4 cm across and show great individuality. The largest, superb crystal is highlighted all around with brilliant, 0.5 to 1.5 cm interlocking Pyrite crystals for exceptional aesthetics and presentation. This locality, the Racracancha Mine, along with the Huanzala Mine have produced some of the best Pyrite crystals extant. The crystals are all essentially pristine on the display face, with just minor contacting and edge wear toward the back of the piece.
