An attractive specimen from the heyday of the Milpillas mine, which is now closed. Two super lustrous, royal blue Azurite crystals to 2.8 cm in length form a lovely V-shape on a matrix of bright, velvety, green Malachite. The Azurite crystals are slightly complex in form and taper up to their perfectly formed terminations. They show gemmy highlights of classic Milpillas "electric blue" internally and the contrast of the royal blue Azurite on the velvety green Malachite is incredibly pleasing to the eye. The piece displays very well, and the Azurites are sharply formed with only one contacted on the backside. This quality, at this price range, is hard to beat in my opinion (old price, old pocket, from circa 2009-2010).
