This Burmese classic "mushroom cap" Tourmaline thumbnail is very similar to one of the others in this update, but the base consists of its own pair of rounded, mushroom caps extending out from the side perpendicular to the upright, pointed mushroom termination. The ones on the side have not only a raspberry color, but a raspberry texture too. As in the other thumbnails offered here, this one too has a Schorl core and an Elbaite exterior. The composite Elbaites on the side have a rich, raspberry red color and a nearly glassy luster. The more distinctive, vertical, composite crystal has an overall triangular outline with a dark purple-red color that scintillates from the composite Tourmalines that comprise it. There is a minor amount of off-white, fine-grained Muscovite or clay mineral locally around the "waist" of the piece for added contrast. Lovely! It looks like a red broccoli cluster!)
