Grossular (var. Hessonite)
Two slightly overlapping perfect crystals in rhombic dodecahedrons, lustrous, transparent and an orange-dark/amber color, on a matrix partially covered with small, pale green diopside needles. These two crystals clearly exhibit the combination of rhombic dodecahedral faces (flat and lustrous) and trapezohedral faces (striated) which characterizes grossulars from this mine.
