Perched aesthetically on its marble matrix are three exquisite, well-formed Afghanite crystals that are lustrous and translucent, along with exhibiting a gorgeous, rich blue color. The larger Afghanite is nearly 3 cm long, and the second-largest is 2.7 cm and doubly-terminated! Larger Afghanite crystals are occasionally available, but the quality and the three-crystal aesthetics make this specimen one of the best from the deposit in its size range. The Afghanites have an orange fluorescence that add even more to their interest and quality. Distinguished aesthetics make this specimen stand above most. This is one of the finer specimens in the size range (Obodda had $4500 on it in his old inventory). This is also the Type Locality for Afghanite.
