Chloritoid
An extremely fine cluster of several relatively large crystals of the uncommon silicate species, Chloritoid. Good crystals are hard to find, and this specimen almost certainly came from one of but a few significant finds in the 1990s. Clusters are quite unusual as normally only broken singles are recovered. The largest crystal in this cluster is tabular and 3.6 cm long. The luster on the complete faces is very high, and it has one good termination. Better in person, as the high luster and good form are easy to appreciate as you admire this black specimen in your hand, and move it around in the light. This is a very showy specimen, for what it is. Formerly in the miniatures collection of Herb Obodda.
