Here is a complex and aesthetic grouping of five compound crystals of bright Hematite from this famous Brazilian locality, unusual in that it is such a 3-dimensional cluster whereas most have a more squat appearance. For that matter, such thick, all-around rose clusters are rare from ANY hematite locality, including the more traditional places in the Swiss Alps. This attractive small cabinet piece shows each Hematite "rose" composed of numerous, accordion-like, crystals in ever so slightly divergent growth, resulting in a very artistic grouping. The silver-black color and almost mirror-like metallic luster on the broad faces and a satin luster on the edges are excellent with the five rosettes all offset just right so that each can be appreciated. Only a few minor nicks on a few of the frontal crystals, and some minor edgewear elsewhere as expected on such pieces, otherwise very good.
