Arizona Malachite pseudomorphs don't usually compare in sharpness and quality to Tsumeb, but this one is different! It's a fine old Bisbee classic and a significant competition-level miniature. This excellent group of Malachite after Azurite is dominated by one large, very sharp, spearpoint-shaped, pseudomorphed crystal that is 4 cm tall. The three sidecar Malachite after Azurite crystals measure 2.4, 2.2 and 1.3 cm, respectively. The pseudomorphism is complete on all of the crystals and the green is variegated on the crystals with pyramid faces and portions of the prism faces highlighted by a brighter green, more typical Malachite color with the other areas a darker green. This is an excellent and aesthetic specimen with great visual and mineralogical interest to it and it is from the classic and now long closed Bisbee mining district in Arizona. These are classics, rarely seen for sale anymore. I have been told they came out in the 1950s and Kay's label dates it to the 1960s, piece #1069 in the collection.
