An elongate, parallel grouping of Hematite crystals dominates this super bright piece from Ouro Preto, showing off a classic rose style of crystallization more often seen from high Alpine (mountain) environments in the world. It is accompanied by a couple of other smaller groupings at the base. The larger Hematite crystals, of which there are over a dozen, are in parallel growth and progressively decrease in size from back to front; and this set of crystals is 3.5 cm across and are in slightly divergent growth. There are two smaller groups of Hematites near the bottom that are approximately 2 and 1 cm across, respectively. All of the crystals display a bright silver-gray metallic luster and has only some minor edge wear. A nice "iron rose" cluster of these non-Alpine Hematites.
