A stunning cabinet specimen of a part cubic crystal of colour-zoned lilac to purple Fluorite with attached Sphalerite crystals from the world famous Elmwood mine in Smith County, Tennessee, USA. One full face of the Fluorite crystal is complete and measures 5.9 x 5.5 cm. The depth around the edges of this varies between 1 and 3 cm to the underside of the crystal. Although at first glance the base of the crystal appears to be broken off or cleaved, it is actually completely covered with sub-mm cubic Fluorite crystals where the surface has naturally re-healed. The roughly triangular area of attached Sphalerite measures 8.0 x 5.5 cm at its widest points, although the translucent clove-brown crystallised upper surface is closer to 5.5 x 4.5 cm when displayed. A beautifully zoned Elmwood Fluorite with Sphalerite.
