A Polybasite miniature of stunning quality from the historic Freiberg District in Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. A specimen free of matrix, it is composed entirely of Polybasite crystals, intergrown to form an open, vuggy crystallised tangle. Individual crystals can attain 8 mm across and form polygonal semi-hexagonal plates, silver-grey in colour and of an intense bright metallic lustre. Brassy-golden Chalcopyrite forms micro framboidal caps to some of the Polybasite crystals. This is an excellent crystallised specimen of this silver-copper-antimony-arsenic sulphosalt.
