Tucson, Arizona, USAIn the process of cataloguing the mineral collection of Dr Josef Clemente (1899-1987), there is no doubting he greatly admired the wonderful Epidote crystals from Green Monster Mountain on Prince of Wales Island in Alaska, USA. Dr Clemente added to his collection well into the 1980's, having begun in the early twentieth century and during this period, Epidote from this locality must have been plentiful. Some of Clemente's labels refer to Lee Myers as his source and we have been kindly informed that Lee R. Myers worked this locality during the 1960's and 70's. This large miniature has a nice balance of superbly crystallised Epidote and colourless quartz crystals, the latter complimenting and contrasting beautifully with the dark, bottle-green Epidote. The largest Epidote crystal measures 2.9 x 1.6 x 1.2 cm and both the Epidote and Quartz alike have a bright glassy lustre. A terrific Epidote with Quartz from Green Monster Mountain.
