Chalcopyrite with Quartz Galena and Calcite

Well-formed intergrown crystals of metallic, brassy golden Chalcopyrite measuring overall to 6.3 cm, associated with stepped habit cubic Galena coated with sugary Quartz. From Banská Štiavnica (Schemnitz) in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia, these crystals cover prismatic colourless-white Quartz covering a pale green rock matrix partly coated by drusy Calcite. Both the Chalcopyrite and Galena are naturally heavily etched, the former striated and the latter pitted, both of which add great interest to the specimen.
