Tucson, Arizona, USAThis magnificent and completely eye-catching cabinet specimen of Cerussite is from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. It really is something quite special, principally because of the thickness and gemmy quality of most of the crystals combined with their impressive size. One particular crystal, which catches my eye, measures 2.5 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm and is perfectly transparent gem quality with highly reflective prism faces and a superb termination. The fact that crystals such as this are single crystals makes them rare, for Cerussite twinning throughout Tsumeb is almost mandatory. A wonderful Tsumeb Cerussite specimen of platy-tabular single and twined crystals with fine thickened bladed-prismatic crystals, completely masking a light grey matrix.
