Beautiful Rhodochrosite crystals form rich coverage on this miniature from the highly esteemed Uchucchacua mine in the Oyon Province of Lima Department, Peru. Excellent, well formed crystals of Rhodochrosite measuring to 1.5 cm are clustered and scattered over a druse of Rhodochrosite crystals, on a black manganese oxide matrix. The Rhodochrosite crystals display three faced terminations with stepped-striated faces, similar to a hill's contour lines on a map. Th e Rhodochrosite is an aesthetic, gemmy to translucent candy pink making a terrific specimen from the one of Peru's most famous mines.
