Tucson, Arizona, USAGiven Tsumeb's fame for having one of the world's most diverse and exotic suits of minerals, it may come as a surprise that well crystallised Quartz is remarkably uncommon; one of the many quirks of nature in the most amazing of mines. This compact miniature is rich in both granular and crystallised Quartz, the latter occurring as a prominent broad milky-white terminated crystal almost 3 cm tall and the former as canary-yellow angular brecciated fragments and shards. Underneath the specimen on its base, rich, light to dark emerald-green Malachite druses, and pseudomorphs after Azurite, dominate. Very minor Azurite is dotted across the specimen and the yellow Quartz is likely to be included, and finely coated, with drusy Mimetite.
