Tourmaline with Quartz$3,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A classic, translucent pink stubby mushroom-like crystal of Rubellite, a red variety of Tourmaline, stands vertically on a partly healed shard of translucent, milky-tan Quartz from Momeik Township in Kyaukme District, Shan State, Myanmar. This is likely to be from the Palelni mine, although this is not known for certain. The Rubellite crystal measures to 2.5 cm wide and displays multi-terminated micro-crystals across its terminations, in parallel habit. Botryoidal Rubellite is developed around the base of this single crystal. A fascinating and highly aesthetic Tourmaline from Momeik in Myanmar, formerly Burma. Although the name was changed from Burma to Myanmar as far back as 1989, the name Burma still resonates gem minerals to many collectors now approaching their more senior years, myself included. This small cabinet specimen is accompanied with a printed and handwritten label formerly belonging to two well-known USA collectors.\n
