A fine Quartz Amethyst from the Zillertal valley in the Schwaz District of Austria. The main crystal measures 9.3 cm tall and displays a captivating Amethystine colour surrounded by gemmy colourless to translucent Quartz with a fine glassy lustre. A hopper-like development is apparent to one side of the Dauphiné habit termination, whilst the prism faces display shallow ridge development. To one side of the main crystal a similarly coloured Amethyst crystal protrudes at an angle outward. Around the specimen's base, pale green Chlorite occurs as embedded light peppermint green sucrosic druses. This is a most pleasing small cabinet specimen of mixed milky and lilac Amethyst Quartz from the Austrian Tyrol.
