A 5 x 4 cm area of a 1 cm thick Quartz plate is almost entirely encrusted with bright silver Sylvanite from its type locality at Baia de Arie? in Alba County, Romania. Sylvanite is a gold-silver telluride and occurs in this specimen mainly as anhedral crystals (i.e. no crystal faces), but does in places show some crystal development and the occasional crystal face. A very rich specimen from Baia de Arie?.
