Quartz var. Smoky Sceptre Quartz$1,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A very fine sceptre Smoky Quartz with an almost colourless Quartz stem, from Obman in Sakha Republic, Russia. At over 10 cm tall this specimen is dramatic. The sceptre-head measures 5.5 cm tall and is approximately 4 x 4 cm in section. The termination is a slightly skewed, asymmetric pyramid with a very minor chip at its apex on one face. Beneath the prism faces the head tapers inwards until it meets the sceptre stem. The head is a crazed mix of almost colourless Quartz with smoky shades which grade towards root beer and deep sherry-brown. Within the near surface structure, small patches of intense iridescent interference colours add to the play of light. The stem is mainly colourless Quartz with smoky zones and has three side crystals of dark smoky Quartz in epitaxial alignment to the head. A lovely specimen. Ex Hans Engelbrecht collection no. 1195.
