A fine large miniature specimen of European Cinnabar. This really well balanced specimen from Etage Polster, Steirischer Erzberg, Austria displays particularly well-formed platy crystals of Cinnabar measuring to 5 mm across. The Cinnabar crystals are a rich deep raspberry red colour and translucent - much brighter and vibrant that most European Cinnabar crystals from Germany and elsewhere. They are really quite large and, positioned as they are, on fawn rhombic crystals of Siderite, makes them really stand out. A classic and attractive specimen from this Austrian location.
