A small miniature containing relatively large Fluorite crystals with a little attached Calcite from Heights mine near to Westgate in the Weardale Valley, County Durham. The Fluorite crystals have smooth glassy faces with a bright lustre and form as regular cubes and distorted, elongated cubes, some of which are interpenetrant twins. Ranging from colourless-greyish-pale green to mild apple-green, occasionally tinged light lemon, the crystals are mainly transparent with gemmy zones grading to translucent reflective internal planes. The crystals measure up to 1.6 cm edged cubes and 2.1 cm distorted cubes. A great little miniature Fluorite from this classic Weardale locality.
