Calcite and Pyrite on Quartz$175.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
The Levant mine in the far southwest of Cornwall is famous spectacular cliff top setting; its under-sea workings and its impressive suite of 45 mineral species. Calcite forms many wonderful habits from here and this small cabinet specimen demonstrates this fabulously! The Calcite forms concave and saddle-shaped circular rosettes to 2 cm diameter, each stood vertically on a bed of glassy terminated Quartz crystals, coloured grey with sulphides and richly dusted with sub-millimetre globular golden Pyrite crystals. The rosettes are built from paper-thin layers of snow white Calcite, a characteristic habit of Calcite both in the Levant and Geevor mines. A superb example of these species and habits from Levant and well-priced at $175.\n
