Rutile
A fine cabinet specimen of red to dark maroon Rutile crystals which range from micro to 6 mm, with many displaying knee-joint twinning. I can readily count at least 30 good crystals and, including the much smaller ones, there are many more. The Rutile crystals are abundantly scattered over a white crystalline druse of 1 mm Feldspar crystals with some green Chlorite covering a light grey Schist matrix. The Feldspar crystals are strongly aligned to the foliation of the underlying Schist, producing a delicately ribbed and most attractive display surface. A splendid Rutile specimen from the Rauris Valley in Salzburg State, Austria.
