Description
A single, part-cubic crystal of colour-zoned Fluorite from the classic Lavrion mining district on the Attica Peninsular of Greece. This off-matrix crystal measures 3.3 x 3.2 cm on its most perfect face and is 2.9 cm deep, back to its fractured point of attachment. The Fluorite is semi-transparent in parts, the remainder being a translucent pale lilac with delicate peppermint-green, pale lemon and light mauve internal zoning towards its outer faces. Attached to the sides of the crystal are patches of glassy, milky-tinged colourless cryptocrystalline Quartz. A nicely zoned Fluorite from Lavrion.
