Fluorite with Calcite and Quartz
Unknown Owner
Chains of stubby cream Calcite crystals, of about 0.8 cm, run across a large cluster of pale mauve cubic Fluorite crystals of 2 to 3 cm on edge. The specimen is from, and typical of, the Weardale mining district in County Durham, England. Many of the Fluorite crystals are coated with micro-crystals of glassy sucrosic Quartz, on top of which the Calcite crystals are perched. A nice combination of Fluorite, Calcite and Quartz from the famous Weardale valley.
