Pseudomalachite
A rich deep bluish-emerald green area of Pseudomalachite measuring to 4 x 2 cm on whitish vein Quartz, from East Gunnislake mine near Calstock, Cornwall. Many such specimens from this mine have been found to be Reichenbachite. A label glued to the back of this miniature bears the old mineral name Ehlite and a reference to the Cornish dealer Richard Talling (1820-1889), dated 1873. A fine historic specimen of Pseudomalachite with a superb link to Richard Talling, whose “Fancy Repository” (mineral shop) in Lostwithiel is legendary amongst mineral collectors. The shop ran from around 1844 through to 1883; oh for a time machine!\n
