A fabulous large miniature specimen of the famous purple-tipped Manganoan Adamite from Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico. The specimen consists of a mass of botryoidal black manganese oxides coated with small crystals of black-coated Adamite from which protrude several eye-catching purple-tipped, colour-zoned Manganoan Adamite crystals to about 5 mm in length. A gorgeous little specimen. The story of the original find of these purple crystals features heavily in the 2003 Mineralogical Record article on The Ojuela Mine, written by Thomas Moore and Peter Megaw.
