Epidote
An elegant cluster of well developed, deep leaf-green Epidote crystals from the molybdenite skarn deposit at Kimmeria in Xanthi Prefecture, Thraki Department, Greece. Individual crystals have finely striated prism faces, as if composed from hair-like acicular needles and all terminations are built of spiky acicular crystals. The largest crystal measures 4.0 x 1.0 x 0.8 cm and is surrounded by many, much smaller crystals around its base. The specimen is mounted on a clear square acrylic base.
