Tucson, Arizona, USAAdamite occurs at most of the Lavrion mines and although specimens were relatively easy to find at surface up until the late 1990s, this beautiful deep citrus apple-green miniature is a particularly good and rich example and is probably from underground. Please note the term Lavrion includes the both the Plaka and Kamariza (or Kamareza) mining districts, the latter is now renamed Agios Konstantinos. Equant, triangular Adamite crystals of 1 mm form a drusy undulating carpet over the entire top surface of a pinkish-brick-red Calcite matrix, resulting in a most charming specimen. Occasional small clusters of yellow-tan Calcite crystals overgrow the Adamite as well as sucrosic patches of light cinnamon Calcite. An excellent and rich Adamite from the classic Lavrion mining district.\n
