Description
A choice and rich spray of Millerite, a nickel sulphide, on a mid-grey matrix covered with micro-rhombohedral crystals of Calcite (or Siderite), from the old Zollverein coal mine at Essen in Germany. The Millerite forms a 3 cm long spray, which fans out 1 cm wide at its apex. The Millerite forms a flat-lying cluster of brassy-golden acicular crystals, with some of the needles reaching the entire 3 cm in length. A beautiful example of well crystallised Millerite from the Zollverein coal mine.
