Beudantite

Unknown Owner

Beudantite is a lead-iron arsenate sulphate and is a rare mineral at Tsumeb, the now closed world famous mine in Namibia. This excellent miniature is richly adorned with rosettes of glassy tabular Beudantite crystals to a few millimetres across over a carmine red, earthy iron-rich coating over Quartz. Under low magnification the Beudantite is clove brown with a tint of green and individual crystals are semi-transparent to translucent with a crackled reflective interior. This is an extremely good example of rare Beudantite from Tsumeb.
