This specimen is from the Cheyenne District of El Paso County, Colorado, probably St. Peters Dome, and displays two well developed octahedral, pyramidal crystals of Zircon measuring to 1.4 cm across. Several further crystals are in association. The crystals of Zircon are a lustrous opaque deep red brown with some crystals off-set to the larger ones. Also on the specimen is a prominent bladed laminar crystal of lustrous red brown Astrophyllite, in a light grey to off-white, milky Quartz matrix mixed with some reddish Goethite. A rarely encountered and fine miniature of Zircon from El Paso County, Colorado, with a Ward's Natural Science label and a handwritten collector's label.
