Description
The copper phosphate Libethenite is a well known species from the mining complex at Wheal Phoenix close to the village of Minions in the Liskeard District of Cornwall. This old time large miniature is from the Clemente Collection and has several areas rich in micro-crystallised dark holly green Libethenite scattered over a brick red iron stained granitic matrix. Wheal Phoenix is an old mine which was named in 1842 having been resurrected from the grandly named Cornwall Great United Mines. This Libethenite will make a good addition for anyone building a Wheal Phoenix suite.
