Description
This very bright green Fluorite is from Litice nad Orlicí, a small quarry near to the town of Žamberk in the Czech Republic. Although green octahedral crystals are know from here, they are rare, and there is little information about the occurrence. This large miniature specimen consists of a coarsely crystallized Calcite matrix, a little damaged in places, with bright mint green octahedral crystals of Fluorite, measuring to 1.2 cm, scattered on top. The Fluorite at one end of the specimen is mostly damaged cleavage surfaces, but colourful, whilst at the other end the octahedral crystals are well formed and mostly undamaged. A very colourful, and unusual Czech Fluorite.
