A splendid, slightly smoky but almost colourless Quartz 'Japan Law Twin' is perched towards one end of The twin highlights the general rule that twinned crystals are often larger than single crystals; in this case, the twin measures 3.5 and 3.0 cm along the two c-axes, set at nearly 90 degrees to one another. A terrific Quartz 'Japan Law twin' from the PC Mine in Jefferson County, Montana, a mine famous for such Quartz twins.
