Elbaite Tourmaline
Unknown Owner
This Elbaite Tourmaline can simply be summed-up as exceedingly pretty and captivating! The thickly-set, vertically striated 4.9 cm tall prism, is a delicious translucent bubble-gum pink colour which grades through astringent mottled yellow to an acidic-burnt lime green flat-topped termination. Triangular in cross section, the upper halves of two sides are richly encrusted with intergrown blades of white Albite feldspar, themselves populated by tiny pale lime-green Elbaite crystals. Mounted vertically on a clear acrylic base, it does look rather lovely. It is accompanied by a late Tony Milverton label, a much-respected mineral dealer from Cheshire, England.
