Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USAAn excellent crystallised specimen of Pyromorphite from the Roughton Gill mining area in the Caldbeck Fells. The Caldbeck Fells are situated within the Lake District in north west England. Well formed greenish-yellow Pyromorphite crystals abundantly cover the display face of a characteristic cellular Quartz veinstone with a hackly-like texture. The prismatic crystals are lustrous and measure up to 4 mm. In many places the cellular matrix forms curtain-like sinuous ribbons, some of which are encrusted with micro-crystals of Pyromorphite, greatly adding to the specimen's aesthetic.
