A showy cabinet specimen composed of 3 to 7 mm tall Quartz crystals that form a drusy epimorph shell after Calcite. Across one end, and a good third of the reverse side, are large and thick areas of micro-crystallised Acanthite, silver sulphide, which forms as sub-mm granular metallic silver-grey crystals. The underside of the Quartz shell retains the angular habit of former Calcite rhombohedral crystals. The drusy Quartz crystals on the upper surface display areas of reasonably good Amethyst of mid-mauve to lilac crystals. The specimen comes with a very fragile, but beautifully handwritten old label.
