Wire transfers available, to set up
Chalcophyllite is one of the rare copper arsenates found in the St Day United Mines which incorporated Wheals Gorland, Unity and Muttrall, amongst others. This group of mines lay just to the east of Redruth in the civil parish of Gwennap. Rich areas of nicely crystallised Chalcophyllite occur across one end of a miniature Quartz-rich veinstone, on the back of which can be see a vein of tarnished brassy Chalcopyrite. The turquoise green crystals of between 1 and 1.5 mm form dense clusters, the turquoise colour resulting for dehydration over the period since it was mined and has been housed in various collections.\n
