Velvet-like, contoured druses of mid-emerald-green Malachite coat a coarsely granular matrix of colourless and iron-stained Cerussite from the Block 14 opencut at Broken Hill Proprietary mine, New South Wales, Australia. The Malachite forms distinct layers of roughly equal thickness differentiated by distinct contours which look like mapped-out hills and valleys across the specimen's surface. An attractive and fascinating Malachite from Broken Hill.
